Senior housing project going to Coeur d’Alene commission

COEUR D’ALENE PRESS | NOVEMBER 12, 2024

A developer is seeking approval from the City of Coeur d’Alene for a new residential care community that would bring more than 100 beds to the area. The proposal, scheduled for review by the Planning and Zoning Commission, includes both full-service residential care homes and independent senior cottages.

The residential care homes would provide 24-hour care, group dining, and supervision for residents who are physically or mentally infirm and in need of continuous support. The senior cottages, designed for adults 55 and older, would offer independent living with daily well checks, housekeeping, laundry, and access to 24-hour monitoring and group dining.

Planned community amenities may include a central gathering space featuring a gym, game and activity rooms, and large meeting areas for residents. This project aims to provide a supportive, engaging, and safe environment for seniors at varying levels of independence.
